Q:Molly telling Sherlock she's pregnant, or perhaps showing him the test?

She was nervous as she did her best to concentrate on the computer screen in front of her. It was the first day of her new assignment and she was doing her best to cheerfully go about creating the lesson plan for the upcoming semester. She’d never properly taught a class before, and she was nervous about the idea of it, but really, it was lucky for her that the timing worked out just right for her. If not, she might have ended up transcribing the hundreds of logs that the Pathology department had accumulated over the last few years.

The whole thing was still rather surreal for her, even more so when things moved along quickly. It had only been 48 hours since she’d known herself and yet here she was, preparing to teaching Introduction of Pathology with a teaching license that she’d gotten ages ago on a whim.

Sherlock still hadn’t gotten back from the case that he and John had left on earlier that week and Molly was a bit relieved that she wouldn’t have to have the conversation with him just yet as she wasn’t exactly sure how she would go about it.

But as usual, life had other plans and Sherlock materialized next to her in the computer lab.

“Why are you here?” he asked by way of a greeting, looming over her, a dark figure in the bright room.

“You’re back,” she said with a smile, tilting her face towards him. His gaze softened a bit as he leaned over to allow her to kiss him by way of a greeting. It was still new to both of them, but Sherlock was getting better about allowing such displays of affection.

“I repeat, why aren’t you down in the morgue? That idiot Carlson is there, and he won’t work with me,” Sherlock pressed on.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I haven’t had the chance to talk with him just yet. He’ll work with you, Sherlock, don’t worry.”

Sherlock’s eyes narrowed and ran over her body quickly, and then flickered to the screen of the computer.

“When did you quit your job, Molly?”

“What? I didn’t quit! I—”

“And you should really stay away from the roasted pork in the canteen, I told you before it was dubious at best.”

Molly frowned. “Why do you think I had the pork?”

“You’re looking a bit pale, and you’ve already expulsed your lunch at least once today, judging by the sweat on your brow,” Sherlock went on. “Why did you quit at the morgue without telling me? To teach, of all things?”

Molly sighed lightly and stood up, raising to her tip toes to kiss Sherlock lightly on the cheek.

“I didn’t quit. It’s just a temporary re-assignment. I can’t be in the morgue or in the lab for while and since I have my teaching license, this was the next best thing.”

“How temporary?”

Now or never. Molly took his hands and placed then carefully on her flat stomach.

“About nine months.”

Pregnant women can’t be around all those chemicals while pregnant. St Barts maternity policy (yes, I looked it up) meant that she would have to submit a letter in writing about her situation and she would receive a reassignment to an area where her fetus would not be harmed.

Also, I fully believe that at some point, Molly would become a professor.
