- I adore your drawings! Do you mind if I post them on my Facebook/Instragram/Pinterest/other social sharing site?

Thanks so much!!! I personally post my drawings and sketches to tumblr, deviant art, dreamwidth/LJ, and sherlolly.com only, and there’s a good reason for that, so I really don’t want them anywhere else. I’m glad you’re enjoying my work, so please use the websites where I post them.

I don’t mind you using my stuff for PERSONAL USE. I would rather you didn’t change the dimensions, add, remove, or otherwise manipulate my work without my express permission. Please don’t re-post my stuff in a different format either. It makes me sad. :(

- ZOMG I love your blog!!! But hey, do you only draw Sherlock?

WHY THANK YOU!!!

I like to draw fandom things a lot, and while BBC Sherlock is my main fandom for art at the moment, I also draw Doctor Who, Cabin Pressure, some Avengers, Battlestar Galactica, and Alias. 

-How do you feel about crossovers?

I LOVE CROSSOVERS. THEY ARE CRACKALICIOUS FUN!!!!!!!!

-AWESOME! Which are your favorite crossovers?

The crossover you’ll see pop up most often on my blog is Cabinlock. Because Martin is TOTALLY the third Holmes brother and there’s very little that you can say that will make me think otherwise. :D 

However, the next most common is Wholock, which, of course is also bloody fantastic. 

There is also CabinWhoLock which makes me happy.

You might also catch sight of Avengelock.


-I saw all those on your tags. But what’s Disney!lock?


This isn’t so much of a crossover in story as it is in style. I wanted to try out the cartoony look, and ended up zeroing in on 101 Dalmatians. However, nowadays I’m honing my own style.

-Okay, cool. But aren’t you willing to draw other stuff?

There’s quite a bit that I’m willing to try, but a lot of stuff that I put my foot down on. It’s a long and complicated list, but it boils down to this:

No slash, nothing above a PG-13 rating. 

- okay, what? huh? That sounds so limiting!

I see it more as a challenge to be creative! But if you’re ever in doubt as to something you’d like to see, send me an ask! I would love to hear what specifically you have in mind! :)

-I LOVE YOU WORK! How do you feel about illustrating fics? Would you mind looking at mine?

I am currently illustrating fics as a collaborative effort with the respective authors who actually happen to be my friends. These are people that I have been talking to for a while and so we know each other well enough to have a good working relationship in that respect, and I most comfortable keeping it this way (no disrespect to other authors out there). 

I am currently in the process of fully illustrating strawberrypatty’s  The Full House and the sequel Party of Four (and related fics). 

-Okay, so then how do requests work?

I have a full time job and a LOT of responsibilities in my real life as well, so while I’m not against random PROMPTS that may or may not get used, I’m no longer available for requests.

However, I often open up my ask box for a certain amount of time when I know I’m going to have a lot of downtime (which happens every so often), so be on the look out for those! 

-How will I know when you’ve filled my request?

I will tag the post with your user name or “Anon”. Since tumblr is a bit dodgy about tracked tags, the sure-fire way to find it would be to go through my tags for your username.

i.e., “artbylexie.tumblr.com/tagged/Anon”

- Do you have a prints page?

Yes, I do.

- Do you have an DeviantArt account?

Yes, I do.
